NEW YORK -- Maggie Grace will make her Broadway debut opposite Sebastian Stan in the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Picnic, the 1953 play that won William Inge the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Directed by Sam Gold (Seminar), the production begins previews Dec. 14 at the American Airlines Theatre, with official opening set for Jan. 13. Other key roles in the ensemble will be played by Ellen Burstyn, Reed Birney, Elizabeth Marvel and Mare Winningham, the latter also making her Broadway debut. Rounding out the cast are Madeleine Martin, Ben Rappaport, Cassie Beck, Maddie Corman and Chris Perfetti. Currently on screens with Liam Neeson in Fox's Taken 2, Grace will again be seen as Irina in the concluding part of the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2. Stan starred recently in USA Network's miniseries Political Animals, opposite Sigourney Weaver and Burstyn; and did a seven-episode arc on ABC's Once Upon a Time. He also appeared in Marvel's Captain America: The First Avenger, and will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in that film's forthcoming sequel. In Picnic, Grace and Stan play Madge Owens and Hal Carter, the roles made famous by Kim Novak and William Holden in Joshua Logan's 1955 screen version. The play chronicles the turbulent emotions unleashed when a handsome drifter wanders into a sleepy town in the American heartland, disrupting the local Labor Day celebrations. Roundabout has a history with Inge's plays, having previously staged The Rainmaker, Come Back, Little Sheba and The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, as well as a 1994 revival of Picnic.
