Statham: I'm open to everything
Jason Statham has revealed he would be interested in starring in a romantic comedy.
The 44-year-old actor has become one of Hollywood's biggest action stars after films such as The Expendables and the Transporter series, but insisted he wouldn't mind trying something different.
He said: "I'm open to everything. If someone wants to send a great romantic comedy my way, I'd be the first to read it. My pursuit is to work with talented people and if there's a great screenplay, why wouldn't I do something with that?
"It would have to play to a strength I've got though. There are certain characters I wouldn't be good at playing and at some point you have to recognise that."
However, Jason - who can next be seen in action film Safe - has no problem with being typecast as a result of his hardman roles.
"Action movies are what you call entertainment. They're exciting, they're thrilling. The biggest movies that take the most money are usually action movies and action heroes like Stallone and Schwarzenegger are the biggest movie stars on screen," he said.
